I had a GTX 680 but it died a few weeks ago after 6 years of use. Both are pretty old hardware, so I wonder if that has anything to do with the aforementioned issues. I'm using an LG BH12LS35 and GTX 560 Ti outputting video through DVI. On the other hand, VLC can play BDs with external subtitles, though like CyberLink PowerDVD 9, it has a hard time playing some BDs. Also, can't seem to be able to play a BD with external subtitles for some reason, the option is grayed out. Playback itself is a bit stuttery at first, but progressively gets better as you watch. Haven't tested it out with TOSLINK maybe that'll work better. All in all, pretty impressive for something that's free.Ĭons: However, audio ouput through 3.5mm jack is very stuttery and laggy.

Also, thanks to the Playlist window, you can skip all the annoying piracy warnings and trailers at the start. Pros: I find that it's able to play newer BDs that my BDP-S1 and CyberLink PowerDVD 9 (which came free with my PC's BD drive) cannot. I just discovered it today and tested it out a bit.
